Founded by Jeff and Nicole Friday, producers of the American Black Film Festival, alongside their sons Ellis and Edison, and rooted in a nearly three-decade legacy of championing Black filmmakers – Art in Black extends the Fridays’ vision to discover, support, empower, and promote emerging artists of color in film, fine arts, and performing arts. Through its various programs, community engagement and advocacy, Art in Black seeks to create lasting impact and positive change, ensuring that the voices and experiences of Black creatives are celebrated, respected, and economically supported.
